Infrared Thermal Imaging on iPhone - wow

While my iPhone is not a full fledged Infrared Thermal Imager (yet) I think this app is great to expand awareness around Uptime Elements like Asset Condition Management (ACM) and how Infrared Thermal Imaging can be used for early detection of potential failures in electrical equipment and rotating equipment.

Using a tool like this can assist managers in understanding why they need to move from reactive maintenance (run till it breaks and fix it fast) to proactive maintenance (detect the potential failure prior to it affecting function or production) so the repair maintenance scheduled effectively and efficiently.

This app is likely to get younger generation - who are not too thrilled about investigating careers in equipment maintenance, a little more excited about some of the high tech aspects of the modern maintenance relability profession.
