Good overall but needs some work
A good start, users can edit thermal images and add more detail from the companion digital picture, then export. However there are some rough edges that the FLIR software engineers could address:
1. View order and display preferences cannot be set globally, nor retained when switching directories. You can select the files displayed in the order you choose, but as soon as you look at another directory, you get the app default settings.
2. Likewise the app doesn’t remember directory paths last used. If you deviate from the folder structure FLIR thinks you should use for your files, you get to navigate through a Finder window each and every time you import and export. This feels like a Windows app where MS dictates you use their silly “My Photos” directory but can’t override the app to use another permanently.
3. The “Instruments” tab doesn’t support the C2 camera, only their much more expensive professional tools. So if you want to look at a live stream from a C2, you’re out of luck.
All in all, a solid and useful program. A few minor tweaks and it could be really good by supporting the workflow you define, not the one it dictates.
